With the support of experienced wilderness guides and therapists, you will journey alone into a wild place to spend days there, without the distraction of food, conventional entertainment, and human company. Just you and the land.
It is a tradition as old as human time. Everywhere on Earth, humans have intentionally and ritually ventured out alone into the wilderness for multiple days, often without food, to pause and reflect in some way, for some reason. The reasons are as varied as the colors of a desert wash at dusk: cultural or personal initiation, honoring the passing of something or someone, courting a dream or a vision of guidance, a passage from one stage of life into another, helping something inside to die or birth something ready to fly.
As modern people, screens monopolize the majority of our moments. It has never been more vital to the health and well-being of ourselves, our families, and communities to spend time alone with the land and slow down. Without the distractions of technology, obligations, entertainment, comforts and even food, we can become aware of and deepen into what is most essential.
LifeWays guides and therapists will create a safe, supportive, ritual and logistical container to help catalyze, clarify, and cultivate the “why” you are really embarking on such a powerful journey while offering guidance to support the possibility of potent transformation. Rhythm, movement, groupwork, dreamwork, ceremonies, intentional wanders, and councils around a fire are just some of the ways that we will be in relationship with the land, ourselves, and this ceremony.
If you are feeling the strong call that something “big” is needed in your life, then this may be the experience for you.
